Kraft vs White Paper Bowls: Which Fits Your Menu
Same footprint, two finishes. How to choose between kraft and white square paper bowls for takeaway, delivery and catering programs.

Kraft and white square paper bowls are the same engineering under two different finishes. Choosing between them is less about performance and more about what your food needs to look like when it reaches the customer - and what your brand needs the pack to say.
The same footprint, two finishes
Square kraft and white paper bowls share the same outer dimensions at 500ml, 650ml and 750ml: a 172 x 120 mm top opening, with heights of 43 mm, 51 mm and 58 mm respectively. That means lids and inserts are interchangeable between the two ranges. A mixed program - kraft for one menu line, white for another - does not complicate your lid inventory.
When kraft reads better
Kraft's natural brown surface suits rustic, artisan and eco-oriented positioning. Sushi boxes, grain bowls, salads and street-food presentations gain a handcrafted feel on kraft, and the material's look reinforces compostable and recyclable messaging without extra printing. Kraft also hides oil spots and handling marks better on longer delivery runs.
When white reads better
White paper board gives food a bright, neutral stage. Colorful dishes - poke, fruit salads, dessert bowls - photograph with more contrast on white, which matters for delivery-app thumbnails and catering displays. White also prints crispest for brands that carry logos, portion markings or promotional print directly on the pack.
Coating and lid options stay open
Both ranges take the same coating choices - PE, PP, CPET, PLA or aqueous - and both close with a clear lid or a paper lid (kraft paper lid on the kraft range, white paper lid on the white range). Specify the finish by menu line and keep one coating spec across both if your packing process prefers it.
A practical way to decide
Order samples of both finishes in the sizes on your menu, run one service shift with each, and judge three things: how the food looks at handover, how the pack survives your delivery radius, and how the finish photographs. Send us your menu and we will put together a sample set with matching lids so the decision is made on your own food, not on a spec sheet.
